HUNTERDON COUNTY RUG ARTISAN GUILD~was
founded in April 1977. We currently have over 90 members from seven states. The
mission of the Guild is to perpetuate the tradition and art of rug hooking, to
encourage creativity, to provide the means for an exchange of ideas and
information and to promote educational activities to enhance the interest in rug
hooking.
Monthly meetings in Flemington, New Jersey offer programs for someone new to rug
hooking as well as the seasoned artisan. Members have opportunities to
participate in hooking demonstrations, rug exhibits, rug camps and “hook-ins”. A
supportive environment is provided for those new to the craft and for those
looking to refine their technique. New members are always welcome! For more

ASSOCIATION OF TRADITIONAL HOOKING
ARTISTS ~ ATHA
ATHA was formed in 1979
for the promotion of rug hooking, educational activities and the exchange of
ideas and information among members.
ATHA has regions in the continent of North America (Canada and the United
States), and one designated as "International". There are members in England, Australia and Japan.
ATHA also publishes a Newsletter issued six time annually. The Newsletters provide
information on the national and local level, articles on the "How To" of rug hooking, as well as advertisements
from various suppliers, designers, teachers, rug camps, etc.

Colonial Rug Hooking Guild of
Northern Virginia
We are an ATHA chapter with a membership of about 45 located in Northern Virginia. The Maine Tin Pedlar
The Maine Tin Pedlar Chapter meets monthly (except January, July &
August) in Ocean Park, Maine, near Old Orchard Beach. For more details on

White Mountain Woolen Magic
The White Mountain Woolen Magic guild meets at the First Congregational Church on Main St in
Hopkinton NH on the 2nd Wednesday of March, April, May, June, September, October, November and sometimes December. We also
occasionally have a Saturday meeting in place of the Wednesday meeting for those who work during the week. The meeting is from 10am to 2pm and
bring a bag lunch.

Buffalo Trace Rug Hookers
The Buffalo Trace Rug Hookers are located in Southern Indiana in

The Wine Country Rug Hooking Guild
The Wine Country Rug Hookers, an ATHA guild in Sonoma County, meets the 2nd Saturday every
month, except August. We meet from 10am until 3pm, at Friends House in Santa Rosa, to hook, share
ideas and plan our next event. We welcome guests and enjoy sharing information about
rughooking. Our dues are $30/year and members must join ATHA. We have held workshops with nationally known
teachers, such as Nancy Miller, Jane Olson, Elizabeth Black, and Helen Connolly Howe. For more

Foxy Ladies Rug Hooking Guild
Founded in September 1999, we are an ATHA guild dedicated to the craft of
rug hooking. Guests and prospective members are welcome to our monthly
hook-ins where we work on individual projects and share ideas and
information about our craft in a casual and supportive atmosphere. All levels
from beginners to the most experienced rug hookers are welcomed.
We meet monthly at historic Beau Bien Tavern at Lisle Station Park, Lisle,
Illinois, on the second Saturday of each month except December, from 10:00
a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (bring a bag lunch). Lisle Station Park is located on School
Street in Lisle, 2 streets south of Ogden Avenue and 2 blocks east of Center

Nutmeg Chapter
Nutmeg meets the third Saturday from September to June. In December it will be the second Saturday (14th) for a pot luck.
The location varies as our members are from all part of CT. and we are always looking for new
members and locations (usually libraries) for meetings. Dues are $10.00 and you have to be a

The Old Pueblo Rug Hooking Guild
The Old Pueblo Rug Hooking Guild in Tucson, Arizona is an ATHA chapter. We have about 20 active
members, as well as several "visitor" members. Tucson is the winter home or vacation area for many
people from the north, and several of our rug hookers come from this population. We hosted a
statewide hook-in in December 2002, and are planning a 3-day workshop with Nola Heidbreder in
March 2003.
We meet regularly at the Woods Memorial Branch Library on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 10 am till 1:30 pm. We welcome new members, visitors, experienced hookers and beginners. The Lone Star Hooking Guild

Piedmont Rug Hookers
North Carolina
Piedmont Rug Hookers (PRH) is a chapter of ATHA and was formed to further
rug hooking in the North Carolina area. We hold monthly meetings in a
member's home. The meetings are scheduled for the 3rd Saturday of every
month and are from 10.00am to 2:00pm. The meetings are held to hook rugs,
socialize and discuss PRH issues and upcoming events.

We are the Arrowhead Hookcrafters Guild located in Duluth, Mn The Guild
was established in approximately 1985 and we have had a Workshop with
McGown certified teachers every fall since then. We have 24 members and
meet the first Monday of each month. We welcome new members to join us.
Some of us are teachers and we all love this fiber art.
