I have been rug hooking for about 3 years. I enjoy hooking mats and framing some of them. Rug hooking is very relaxing and enjoyable to me.
This mat is special to me as my husband designed the pattern. It depicts our home, or better, how we want it to look. This is sort of our prototype. We wanted to change the roof color and add shutters, and this is how it will look.
The border is oak leaves, as we love oak trees and have one in the front of the house. The wool is mostly recycled wool. This is my first mat of the millennium. So this is definitely a family affair, from the designing and hooking of the rug, to the renovations on the home. It will always be special to me.
