This is about the third rug I ever hooked. I chose this one to send in for the colors, certainly not the technical expertise! I drew the design on burlap myself. The rug measures 34" x 22". This was my first stab at gradation dyeing (the sky). The rug was a lot of fun to do and went very quickly. I prefer to hook smaller rugs of about this size. My favorite type of rug to hook now are pictures of peoples homes with a border of my own design. I have done two of them so far and they are really appreciated. I have never had a lesson and know that I could really use some technical help. Unfortunately, I have found that it is difficult to find a teacher in my area that caters to a working woman! I was thrilled to find The Rug Hooker's Network and can't wait to see other rugs pictured!
