"Fred-Bird
Hooked and Designed by Mary Lewis
During the 1980's I was an avid rug-hooker. In 1987 we moved from St. Louis, MO area to Central Florida. During the move, the truck carrying our household goods broke down, needed to be towed and in the process caught fire and burned all of our belongings. Among them five (5) area rugs that I made along with all of my rug-hooking tools. I don't know how they managed to burn a puritan frame stand, but it was no longer there when we went to view our charred belongings.
This is a picture of a rug I made for my son who is a collector of St. Louis Cardinals memorabilia. He had a small picture of "Fred-bird" which I drew on rug warp, dyed the wool and hooked it for his Cardinal Baseball Room. Just thought some of the other rug-hookers would be interested in seeing it. Also, I have purchased all of the rug-making tools and am in the process of completing a rug for my house.
