Hello, Friends!

I'm sending an attached file of a rug I made for my mother. It was only the second rug I'd ever hooked--- I taught myself from Alice Beatty's book "Basic Rug Hooking."

It was hooked with 100% recycled thrift shop wool (moth-eaten pants & skirts) on a burlap backing. I designed it myself and call it "Life Cycle."

Mom was thrilled with it and so was I, though it's not perfect. I've just finished my third rug which commemorates my brother's June wedding, and I'm still learning!

I'm a 26 year-old freelance writer, and I hope to enjoy a lifetime of hooking. I love the fact that rug hooking enables me to turn trash into treasure.
