"O Christmas Tree"
Hooked by Carol Rahall
Designed by Praire House

I've been rug hooking since 1970. I hooked "O Christmas Tree" in 1983-84. My teacher was Mary Melvin and my class was at Cedar Lakes in Ripley, West Virginia.

I hooked the faces to resemble the features of my ten grandchildren, including a set of twins. The red border was from my Father's wool shirt. He passed away before I completed the project. I did all the dyeing and used all 8 value swatches. The background around the children was off-white wool, spot dyed. The floor was the same wool with darker and more spot dyeing.
