She starts with cutting the bottom ribbing. Then she cuts in spirals up to the arms. After that she cuts the ribbing of the sleeves. Then the cuts the sleeves in spirals from the bottom to the top.
Then she cuts the rest of the sweater in spirals.
She does not use the ribbings for the rug.
She writes that it is important to use only sweaters which have only knitted stitches on the right side of the sweater and purled on the wrong side. With this sweaters then the strips roll up a little bit when you use them. Do you understand what I mean? I have to look up every second word in the dictionary!
