The white lining enables you to best discern the colour that your wool is taking on when you are dyeing it. I have yet to find one of these gems and to date, am using a light-coloured aluminum pot with a lid that holds about 5 quarts when full. I bought it at a thrift store. Don't use if for cooking food though. This is an adequate size to dye 1/4-1/3 yard of wool. Have fun.
