"DIANE'S CREWEL"
Designed by Jane Olson
Hooked by Norma Flodman
Diane's Crewel rug pattern was inspired by an old half-round pattern made in the early 1900s. The difference is that the old design had primitive flowers. Crewel flowers are very beautiful and can be developed with a multitude of colors. The pattern is not too large and is excellent for a beginner. It will give you a chance to practice shading and blending of several colors. Each crewel flower can be treated separately.
Many times I am asked where my ideas for patterns come from. I see beauty and design everywhere. Once I decide on the size of a rug, and what design to use, the rest is easy.
