Vermont Botanical is the creation of Maggie and Tracy Lake. Maggie's love and knowledge of plants and herbs leads her on gathering expeditions throughout the New England wild, and to places as far away as Alaska. In these places of natural beauty she collects those plants that will stand the test of time, retaining their delicate form and color.
The same dedication and craftsmanship that Maggie brings to the collecting and design of the botanicals can be found in Tracy's selection and construction of the frames. He logs, saws and shapes local hardwoods into framestock allowing him to control grain pattern and quality, He also uses imported hardwoods and goldleaf framestock, anchoring each corner with an ebony spline for accent and stability.
